Every year many hundreds of people flock to Loughborough Town Centre to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of the celebrated Loughborough Mela. This hugely successful multicultural event hosts a wide range of food, stalls, children’s activities, local fairground rides and a diverse entertainment programme to ensure that there is something for everyone. The town’s many and varied communities will be coming together to celebrate. Loughborough Mela is a great example of harmony in our community, where people from diverse cultural backgrounds come together to celebrate. The whole day is free, living up to its promise of being fun for the whole family. The Loughborough Mela is a partnership event organised by Equality Action, Charnwood Arts, John Storer Charnwood and local community groups and individuals with support from Charnwood Borough Council and Arts Council England. Please note that the area from Cattle Market, Market Street and Market Place is closed to regular traffic on the day.
